Hi, I’m Cait (she/her).

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (#LH61045896) practicing in Bellingham, WA.

Like most therapists, I didn’t stumble into this work. My personal experiences, curiosities, and desire to connect deeply with people called me to this work. These qualities make my clients feel seen, understood, and supported in ways they likely have not before.

I work with individual clients ages 18 & up on a variety of issues. Some of my specialties include trauma/PTSD, anxiety, chronic pain/illness, depression, grief, performance pressure, relationship challenges, identity development, and life transitions.

We might be a good fit if you are seeking to:

  • Build coping skills to show yourself deep care and manage your distress

  • Grow your understanding of how your early relationships shaped you and how you experience connection

  • Identify themes in your life, make meaning of your experiences, and feel empowered to make changes

  • Connect with the present moment and observe your processes with non-judgement and compassion

  • Deepen your self-awareness and ability to identify and express your needs and emotions

  • Be gently challenged and held accountable to grow and move forward

In my time away from the office I enjoy listening to podcasts, playing with my dog, and trying out new recipes.

Training & Experience

I received my training at Western Washington University, where I earned my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have experience working with diverse populations and needs, including:

  • Advocacy work with survivors of trauma (domestic violence & sexual assault)

  • In-patient psychiatric hospitalization stabilization/care

  • Community mental health

  • Private practice

My Therapeutic Approach

My approach is client-centered, strengths-based, and informed by evidence-based practices.  I draw from various counseling approaches to meet your unique needs, including: relational, attachment, narrative, somatic, and mindfulness therapies, as well as CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy).

I believe that establishing safety is essential to the therapeutic process.  My practice is trauma-informed to enhance your experience of safety, choice, and empowerment throughout the counseling process.  Additionally, my practice is LGBTQIA2S+ affirming and supportive of your unique cultural, racial, ethnic, and spiritual context.

I’m committed to addressing my own biases, prejudices, and privileges through ongoing self-reflection, advocacy, and education.
